About Us

Founded in 1994, the Women’s Center serves as a resource for the university; sponsors educational programs and events; and serves as an on-campus focal point for services for survivors, their friends and families. As a unit of the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, we serve Virginia Tech students, faculty and staff. 

Our mission statement: To engage the VT community in creating an affirming and supportive environment through advocacy and education.

Our vision is: A Virginia Tech community where students, faculty and staff:

  • can succeed academically, professionally and personally    
  • are free from all forms of interpersonal violence    
  • are inspired to promote promote connection and belonging in our community
