Sarah Wickwire

Advocacy Coordinator
CARES Program for Survivors

Sarah (she/her/hers) provides advocacy and support services to students, faculty, and staff who have been impacted by experiences such as sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking/harassment and many other forms of violence.  Sarah is a confidential resource on campus and can provide advocacy and support to individuals whether or not they choose to report their experience to authorities or the university.  If someone chooses to make a report, she can support them through that process and accompany them to law enforcement/court proceedings or campus Title IX meetings.

Sarah has a Master’s in Social Work from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada and has been a practicing social worker since 2008.  She has worked in child welfare and mental health settings and has worked in the field of sexual violence for the past 11 years.  Sarah has training and experience working with diverse populations, complex trauma, sexual abuse, and sexual health.  She has a passion for creating space to talk about consent and healthy sexuality/relationships and strives to create a warm, supportive, and accepting environment for all who come to see her.
